Sanctuary of Montenero (313 mt.) close to Leghorn
Montenero: the hilltop site of a handsome pilgrimage church, It delives its origin from an image of Our Lady which, according to legend, was miraculously transported here from Island of Euboea in 1345.

Passed the beautiful "Valle di Quarata" (Quarata Valley) one reaches the beautiful "Piazza del Santuario" with a View of Leghorn. Many pilgrims visit Montenero every year because of their devotion to Mary of Montenero Patron of Tuscany.
