In autumn and in winter you can visit I the Lands of the Renaissance in an elegant and relaxing atmosphere. At this time of the year there are fewer tourists and places of interest are more accessible.

The mild climate of this area brings splendid sunny days in September and October and allows for pleasurable visits even in the colder months. Museums and places of interest are open year-round, as are hotels and "agriturismo" (accommodation in countryside houses), all of which offer special prices and off-season discounts. Surprisingly, it's in these months that the landscape appears most vibrant. September brings the annual grape-harvest, while November and December feature the gathering of olives, which culminates in the year's first opportunity to taste the newest wines and olive oils. Involving yourself in the tasting simply requires attending one of the numerous local festivals, such as the Festival of New Wines and olive oils held on the last Sunday of November in Vinci.

Pistoia-Vinci.
From Pistoia the road goes up into the hills passing San Baronto to reach Montalbano. This is a road as beautiful as it is winding. Not recommended for buses.

Empoli-Vinci
Leaving Empoli and passing through Soviglia-na, turn right at the fork in the road towards Vi-tolini, Carmigna-no.
The road continues through the lush Tuscan hillsides until you reach Vinci.

Prato-Vitolini (Vinci).
Pass Carmignano, ascend to the top of Montalbano, then go down until you reach Vitolini. Not recommended for buses.
