The town
of Uliveto Terme
The town of Uliveto is surrounded by remarkable natural
beauties that are to be found up the Mountains around Pisa.
The local flora is tipically Mediterranean: holm-oaks, oaks,
chestnuts and pines.
Oil-growing producing excellent oil is typical.
The local fauna is that of the Tuscan country: wild boars,
foxes and squirrels.
A public organization named CAI has provided the town of
Vicopisano with paths along which many medioeval traces
are to be found (such as the above mentioned strongfield
of the 'Verruca" and the rests of S.Michele's abbey).
Visitors may practise several sports, such as walking, riding
and riding mountain bikes.
Besides there are more and more rural boards and lodgings
thereabout.
Many handicrafts, such as artistic wood-and backed clay
manifacturing, as well as wood workmanship and restauration
belong to the ancient local tradition.
The thermal spas
There is a noteworthy spa in
the town of Uliveto Terme, where the visitors may benefit
from thermal-cares.
From June to September it is possible to take advantage
of the sport centres with swimming-pools and tennis courts.
Inside the spa entertainments of various kind often take
place (cultural entertainments, amusing entertainments etc.).
