place of San Carlo town
Hydromineral spa about 6 km far from Massa, lying in a lovely
position among green hills. A visit is to be paid to the
cathedral, with a Carrara-Marble facade, the "Palazzo
de Cybo Malaspina", the 15th century fortress and the
churches of St. Giacomo and St. Leonardo. Possible hikes
and excursions to the Pasquilio, to the Riviera of Versilia
and to the Apuan Alps.

The Spas of San Carlo are situated between the Alps Apuane
and the sea of the Versilia.
The Terme, well known since the times of
San Carlo Borromeo, after whom the spa
is named, situated a few kilometres from Massa, is recognised
for its extraordinary position close to the Alpi Apuane
and the Costa of Versilia.
 The
main attractions of this place are the famous Marble Caves,
the beaches along the Tirrenian coast and the numerous cultural
engagements and shows organized by the spa centre for the
whole season.
San Carlo Spas are situated between the Apuan Alps and the
beaches along Versilia. At the Spa, in a peaceful park,
you can sip this precious water, rich in microelements,
gushing from the San Carlo Spring.
This water is famous for its healing properties
in particular kidney diseases or it can be used as a therapy
after surgical operations. The Spas have an arrangement
with the National Health Service for calculosis of the urinary
tract and for diseases affecting the gastroenteric and biliary
system. San Carlo Spas are open all year.
