We
are ideally located for local excursions and pilgrimages; in a day
trip you can visit San Gimignano, Pisa, Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, the
outsanding abbeys of San Galgano, Sant'Antimo and Monte Oliveto Maggiore.
This area of the Val d'Orcia has been able to maintain its historical-linguistic
identity and villages like Pienza, Radicofani, Monticchiello and the numerous
hot springs are clear signs of these antique traditions.
The valley with its unique clay hills (the "crete senesi"), created
by natural erosion by water and winds, is just perfect for hiking, horseback
riding and bike rides among the sweet rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves,
woods and wheat fields.

Ardene lies between the Valdorcia and the Valdichiana, well-known sites
since the Roman age for the production of extra virgin olive oil, wine
and wheat.
A stay here means combining relax, wellness, sightseeing to the many
Renaissance and medieval towns, churches, museums and untouched landscape.
Food and wine have always played a crucial role in our tradition (extra
virgin olive oil, the famous red wines such as "Chianti", "Nobile
di Montepulciano", "Brunello di Montalcino", t-bone "chianina" steak
and pecorino cheese).
Pienza and the Val d'Orcia are just a stroll; Chianciano Terme, Montefollonico,
Monticchiello, Montalcino, Cortona, Chiusi, Monte Oliveto are in a
range of 10/20 km.
Within an hour drive one can reach Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi.
